Stephanie Gifford is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She began her career in higher education at SUNY Maritime College in Bronx, NY, as the Conference Services Assistant. Stephanie later assumed the role of Events Coordinator at the SUNY Global Center, the State University of New York’s event facility located in the heart of Manhattan. Although she loved her job and colleagues, she greatly missed working in a campus setting and eventually returned to Maritime College as their Community Programs Coordinator, a position she held for several years. Shortly before relocating to Asheville, she also assisted the college by serving as their interim Career Planning and Development Officer.
After moving from New York, Stephanie was thrilled to become a part of UNCA, especially after exploring all of the edible gardens and hidden trails throughout campus when first visiting the farmers market on Saturdays. In addition to managing the Mass Communication department office, she also provides administrative support to the Center for Jewish Studies. In January 2016, Stephanie became the advisor for Bespoke UNCA, a fashion club and one of the newest student organizations on campus.
